Important Safety Tips
TrueAssay solutions are corrosive acids. Handle them with care and keep this guidance nearby whenever you test.
Before you test: Work in a well-ventilated area, away from food and drink. Wear nitrile or rubber gloves and eye protection. Always test on the stone — applying acid directly to your item can damage it.
While testing: Use only small drops, never mix solutions together, and clean the stone with neutralizer between tests to avoid contamination. Keep the original bottle labeled and recap it immediately.
Storage: Store solutions tightly capped and upright in a cool, dry place, out of reach of children and pets. Never transfer acid into unlabeled or food containers.
If an accident happens: Skin — flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and remove contaminated clothing. Eyes — rinse with water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention. Inhalation — move to fresh air. Swallowing — do NOT induce vomiting; rinse the mouth and get medical help right away. For any exposure, call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 (US) or 911 in an emergency.
Spills and disposal: Neutralize small spills with baking soda, then wipe up while wearing gloves. Do not pour acids down the drain — follow your local hazardous-waste disposal rules. For full handling, first-aid, and disposal details, see the complete testing guide and the product Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
